Hugh Hemphill looks after a 1924 C cab TT on behalf of the Texas Transportation Museum in San Antonio, which also hosts the annual "San Antonio Ford Model T Show. He became involved with the club following a chance meeting with former San Antonio T club president Daniel Bratcher in 2007. Hugh is also the author of two books about local transportation history, "The Railroads of San Antonio and South Central Texas," published in 2006 and "San Antonio On Wheels," published in 2009. When he mentioned that the museum owned a C Cab 1 ton Model T truck, Daniel was quick to ask to be able to see it. His verdict was that even though it had not been started in over 25 years, getting it running probably would be relatively simple. And indeed it was. Daniel and fellow T club member Mike Mackechney were able to get the engine running within two hours. It was during subsequent work that the idea of holding a Model T show at the grounds of the museum came up. This was swiftly organized, sixteen Model Ts were present. Since then the annual celebration of Model Ts became a regular event. He acquired a 1925 Touring car in November 2017.

Noting that 2008 was the 100th anniversary of the Model T's introduction, Hugh asked museum supporter Red McCombs to sponsor the show. Red went one better. He contacted the Ford Motor Company and the show became one of the few Model T shows officially supported by the company. Both Hugh and the club pulled out every stop and gathered 45 Ts of all types for the event. Hugh volunteered to create a club newsletter and create web pages for the club on the museum's site. He contacted the media and organized a publicity generating downtown cruise, that ended up on televisions across the country. He found that he really enjoyed working with TFOT members and vice versa.

Meanwhile, the museums 1924 truck gained the nickname "Diva" for its habit of running well in private and acting up in public. Nonetheless, it has gone from being almost ignored at the museum to being a centerpiece. It is one of its most frequently driven vehicles. Hugh has this to say about the "T Fords of Texas" : "I visit with many organizations including other car clubs. While I appreciate what they do, none has drawn me in so completely as TFOT. The group has a unique sense of no-judgemental camaraderie that is pretty rare at any time." Hugh continues to be club newsletter editor and now webmaster of this independent web site.
